Individual Personalities

3 years old
Isn't she the most beautiful little girl you've ever seen. I just love her to pieces. We went to the track at the park last night and walked/ran/jumped and just played. The kids had a great time. It was good weather and we had fun as a family. I was thinking my kids all have such unique personalities and characteristics. I like this picture of Hannah because it shows her little smirk. It's the look where she is happy and excited that I'm taking her picture, but she's kinda shy about it too (the way she has her tongue and mouth). Little details I guess only a mom would know. But Hannah is so thoughtful. She always wants to make sure I have everything I need when I nurse Jacob. She wants to bring me my water and make sure I have a sandwich so I don't get hungry. So sweet! She is also definitely a leader and she has a plan..all the time. She informs Caleb of her plan and he just willingly follows. She also likes to tell me how things are gonna be. I then gently remind her that I am MOM and she needs to obey me. But thanks for sharing her ideas. She is so loving as well and such a nurturing 3yr old. Yesterday Jacob was crying so she went over to his bed and started singing "Jesus Loves Me" on her own to him, and he stopped crying. I peeked in to see, and she saw me and just smiled really big. SO SWEET! I didn't want her to stop so I said...you're doing a great job, thank you for helping him feel better. PRECIOUS.

2 years old
Just such a sweet boy. Caleb loves me and loves for me to still hold and cuddle with him. His favorite things are his blanket, doggie, and his cup. He usually carries all 3 of them around at the same time. Even though those are kind of "baby" things he is getting so big. He LOVES Hannah the most I think. He loves to play with her, when he wakes up in the morning he wants to know what SHE is doing. He copies everything she does all day long. He follows along well at this point and is still easily persuaded. He is loving and wants everyone to be "OK". If Hannah or Jacob are crying he really wants to know that they are "OK". He kind of hovers around until they stop or he can see that things are gonna be fine.

5 weeks old
Well let me say he's really not as fat as he looks in this picture, I just love it! Cracks me up! So in Jacob's short little life I can say so far he is a pretty passive little baby. Content most of the time. Is starting to sleep better. I usually have atleast a 4-5hr stretch at night which is AWESOME. Thank you little one for letting mommy sleep some! I can't wait to see what your little personality will be like.

My Babies!

They were "getting married". They both love to wear my shoes (why are kids so fascinated with this) and walk up and down the hallway, that means that they are now married. Pretty cute even if Caleb is wearing a princess crown. Jacob will grow up soon enough and they can play trucks.


Look at his precious smile. He has just recently started smiling on purpose at me and I LOVE it. With the light from the camera, makes me think his eyes may turn out to be kinda blue too (click on the pic to make it bigger). Go figure. Where is my brown-eyed baby?

Some days everyone just wants mom. I love it!

Growing Family

I had my 5wk post-partum appointment this week and I finally got a picture with nurse Pat and Dr. Suarez. Dr. Suarez delivered Jacob and Pat was wonderful during all my OB visits. She would always call back immediately and was so nice to talk to. Dr. Suarez was nice, never really said much and was VERY relaxed about this whole pregnancy thing. I guess he did a good job because I have a very healthy baby boy!

Just look at those cheeks! We had him weighed yesterday, and are you ready for this... he now weighs 10lbs 12oz. Thats is like 3lbs in 3 weeks.... YAY for Jacob! He still is not spitting up, so he is digesting everything which is wonderful. I will count my blessings!

Having Some Fun

I seriously have the best husband ever. He is so creative and always thinks of fun things to do with the kids. Messy things. Things that I would NEVER choose to do, but they LOVE it and learn and have a great time. In this picture they are making their own paper. Jeremy found this at Wal-Mart I think for really cheap anyway you shred regular paper, soak it, mix it, and smash it into some mold. Supposedly the finished product is "new paper" any color and any shape you want. This took several hours, but it worked. Sorry no pic of the finished product.

My kids LOVE to blow bubbles. This is messy as well, but I can handle it. These were taken on my first day flying solo as a mom of 3. Jeremy at work, family all gone. We did a pretty good job I think. Jacob was inside sleeping. I love these pictures and I love Caleb's eyes.

2 week update

Well friends...isn't he just the most precious baby ever! Even though the pacifier is taking up most of his face, he's still so cute!! Jacob will actually be 3 weeks tomorrow but I'm slow on updating because we finally got our computer up and running with faster internet service I might add than we had before!! So hopefully more pictures to come soon.

Anyway we went for his 2 wk visit and he is growing and gaining weight like a champ! He was born 7lbs 7oz, when we left the hospital he was down to 7lbs 1oz, and at 2 weeks he was up to 7lbs15oz!! Yeah so he gained almost a pound. I am nursing exclusively and it's going perfectly! And whats even better is that he doesn't spit up at ALL! This is new to me. Hannah and Caleb spit up SO SO much, I mean we almost had GI studies done on Caleb to see what was wrong. Maybe he's still to young to spit up, but by 3 wks my others were a mess. So it's nice.

As for me I'm doing really well. I don't feel sad, depressed, haven't really cried, nothing. I think since I have the other 2 kids I'm busy and doing stuff with them, it's just easier. And Jacob is still pretty good, doesn't really cry much. He sleeps really well, at night still eats about every 3-4hrs but goes right back to sleep. And EVERYONE naps at the same time in the day time. Caleb in his bed, me and Hannah on the couch in the den, and Jacob in his pack in play. So I'm getting sleep and don't really feel sleep deprived. I'm just enjoying this newborn phase better than the others! I'm so glad it just seems a little bit more fun with Jacob. With Hannah I had PPD and it was a shock to my system to have a newborn. No more just me and Jeremy...we now had this baby (who was precious) but totally rocked our world. Caleb was easier, but Jacob has been the best transition so far. I guess I'm more used to being in mom mode.

New Life

Just wanted to say that we LOVE having a new baby in the family. We are adjusting so so well. First of all, I am recovering AMAZINGLY well from my c-section. This is how the whole story happened. I want to blog about it for journaling purposes and then for anyone else that wants to know.

I was scheduled for my c-section Friday Aug 14 at 7:30am. I would have been 39 weeks that day. So we thought surely that was early enough. My due date was Aug. 21. So on Tuesday the 11th the kids and I just hung out around the house. We all took a nap which was wonderful. I woke up about 3:30 and felt a little sick to my stomach. I was a little crampy but didn't really think anything of it. But they came and went....in about 30min I had what ended up to be about 4 contractions. I called the nurse to just kinda let her know how I was feeling, and she said I needed to come and get checked out. So I started crying (don't really know why) I guess I was just nervous. I'm thinking, it's not Friday, this is supposed to be planned because all the grandparents are coming thursday to watch the kids. So we made arrangements with some friends to watch the kids very last minute. I took a shower, we finished packing and we finally made it to the hospital in Victoria (1hr away) by 6:45.

We went up to the Labor and Delivery to the triage room, and they hooked me up to the monitors. I was indeed contracting, and was glad because the whole car ride I had maybe 2 contractions....and I'm thinking I really didn't want to go home without a baby! So the first nurse got all my information and kinda made it sound like we would maybe have a baby. The second nurse came in and checked me and said they'd probably send me home. She said that I would need to really be in labor and have a changing cervix. I'm thinking...WHY??? I'm having a c-section. My doctor never checked my cervix..said it really didn't matter to him because once again I'm having a c-section.

Next thing we know the nurse walks in carrying IV's stuff, catheters, etc...she said I guess you talked to the doctor because we're gonna have a baby in about 20min. We were like OK. Kinda surprised! Then everyone started working really fast. My doctor came in and said...yes you're in labor, contracting every 7min and dilated to a 2. So we're gonna do this today. Both doctors we at the hospital and ready to go...so I guess that why all the hurrying.

We were so excited. In the midst of signing everything we managed to call parents and my mom to say "start driving". Next thing we know...we're in the OR. My surgery went so great. With Caleb during some of the repair part, they had to knock me out because it hurt and I could feel TOO much pressure and pain. With this time, nothing...it was great. The whole thing lasted maybe 15min. He was born at 8:36pm, and we were all back in our room by 9pm.

The hospital was great, loved our room, nurses, food, everything! Wednesday was our only full day there, I walked around a lot, then Thursday by noon we were on our way home. So it was a really quick stay. I am up and moving really well, not really needing pain medicine anymore. We're just all surprised how fast I'm up and moving. I think the Lord knows, because I have 2 very active children at home to take care of. My mom is here and will be here for several more days to help and visit and entertain. It's really hard for me to not do anything...I think it's ok to be up and about if I feel good.

Hannah and Caleb have been so loving to Jacob. No jealousy at ALL! I'm so glad. We've bee practicing with baby dolls for a long time now, so I think they are just excited to have a real baby here now! Hannah LOVES to help do everything. She thinks it's so fun, and she gets to hold him a lot. She really is pretty natural and mothering even at 3yrs old!

Jacob is 2 days old here. Found his fingers already, sucks the same fingers that Caleb does, just on his left hand. Precious.

Getting ready for his first bath at home. Hannah is ABSOLUTLEY loving this. She wants to help and do everything.

Caleb doesn't really bother Jacob too much, but when he gets to hold or kiss him, he squeals and then laughs. So cute.

Me getting to hold Jacob for the first time. He was about 2hrs old. His temperature was a little low so they kept him in a warmer for awhile in our room, then took him to the nursery for about 30min or so to bathe him and warm him up some more. After that he was good to go, no more temperature problems.

Was born at 8:36pm 7lbs 7oz, 19in. He is such a good baby, sleeps well, nurses so good and I'm so thankful for that. Such a blessing. We'll keep updating as we go.

37 week update

Well, I went to the doctor on Friday, and my guess is that repeat c-section patients are the easiest OB patients EVER. We listened to the heartbeat briefly the doc said "Yep good and strong and steady". This doctor doesn't measure you. No measuring from pubic bone to top of uterus (strange to me) but he said he's done this for 25yrs and he can look and tell how your growing and measuring. Well ok. So, no measuring. I asked about pelvic exams...not that I want them, but he's not gonna have to do that. I understand I guess with a section, it doesn't really matter, but still it's kinda fun to see how you're "progressing". Baby position, well he doesn't check that either. He said with a c-section you just reach in and grab what you grab. Well ok for that too I guess.

So pretty much, these visits have been the easiest most boring doctor visits yet. I mean I'm glad after what we went through with Caleb...but I'm glad this isn't my first baby, not too much info being given out. I mean he's probably thinking too that this is my 3rd kid, so I know the ropes, so there you go. I guess if I had questions I'd ask, but I don't really have any. Our visits are very short and kind of uneventful.

I go back on Thursday to hear my baby's beautiful heartbeat and I'm guessing thats it. 13 days to go and we are ready! The kids are ready, probably just tired of us talking about it. I'm just ready to see this precious little boy. Can't wait to see what he looks like.

Ice Cream and Pregnant!

So on Monday night Hannah with with Jeremy and some church people to a Corpus Christi Hooks (minor league ball) game. They left about 4pm and got home at midnight. So I decided Caleb and I would have a little date. We went to Dairy Queen for some ice cream which just so happened to be a wonderful idea for both of us. He loved his cone, made just a little mess....he's being neater these days, kept wiping his face after every bite. He didn't finish it so I got to eat mine and his. Very nice. I tried to get a pic of both of us and it didn't work out, but here is one of my cute little guy. Can't believe he is a 2yr old now.


Ok took this today, I'm 36wks 5days pregnant. We have been TERRIBLE at taking weekly pics. I really wanted to, so we'll start now with only 2 weeks left. I was thinking with Caleb tomorrow would be the day he was born 36w6d. I had been in the hospital for 32 days already. So I'm rejoicing that I'm at home and not having a baby tomorrow, but soon would be good. I'm feeling very pregnant these days. Only 16more days to go. Scheduled c-section for August 14, I'll be 39wks that day! We're ready to bring this baby home.

Princess for a Day!

This was the first time Hannah got her hair washed before getting a hair cut. She thought it was pretty cool. She almost fell asleep (this was during naptime). She's so big!

This was SO SO FUN! Thanks to mom. We all got to get pedicures done! We walked in and they were able to do all 3 of us at the same time. Hannah had a super cute panda bear chair, and she got to watch a movie at the same time. She thought it was pretty cool!



The finished product! We all had flowers on out big toes....this was to prepare for our beach trip later that week! Hannah of course was the foot model.

More Summer Fun

While in Waco for a week, we had to go visit Kiddie Land at Lions Park. I went here a lot as a kid, had birthday parties etc...however somehow the park seemed much bigger and cooler as a little kid! Family train ride. The seats were a LOT smaller than I had remembered :)

I love this. Grandpa and Caleb in their garden. Caleb was picking banana peppers and just eating them. Then he'd spit it all out after he got a mouthful. It was pretty cute.


Cute as a bug! We went to Waco for about a week, and the kids got to swim and Grandma and Grandpa's house. Caleb was obsessed with the goggles. He had to have them on. Eventually as long as they were just on top of his head he was fine. So precious!

I LOVE this picture! This was at our baby shower at church. My precious girl! So glad God gave me a little girl to love! There were 3 of us pregnant all due this summer, so we had a combined diaper/wipe/toiletry shower. It was amazing. We are so blessed and are very ready for this new baby boy to arrive.



Yep, this is what kids do when it's 100 degrees outside and they have a 8-9 month pregnant mom. It was a hit, they even smelled good afterwards. We went straight to the bathtub! It was fun, but I must say we did this only once. I have to get brave enough again!

Birthday Boy!

Oh my precious boy turned 2yrs old on July 20! I just can't believe how fast this time goes and how much of a toddler he is these days. I just love him so much..it really is amazing how God just lets you love each child SO much when you think you can't possibly love them enough! So we had a party with some family and friends around town. This was after he ate his cupcake. I'll try to post a video but it was funny...he started eating his cupcake using NO hands...just face down icing first. I guess whatever works.

The party was in our backyard. We had in in the morning so it wasn't TOO hot yet. We had the pool set up, and sprinklers...thats all the kids needed. They got to run around and play and have a big time. We had cupcakes, watermelon, and juice boxes. I think those are every kids favorites. Then for clean up they just had to go jump in the pool. Great plan!

Of course I had to get a picture of him on his ACTUAL birthday. He poses so nicely!

He's got it down when you ask how old he is. He very quickly says 2! We're just working on "showing" that we're 2. For now each finger is 1. This works for now. It's pretty cute actually!
