Ok, so I work one day a week at the hospital here in town. So today, I thought, I'd love to listen to my little baby. So I went into the ER, said, I wanna listen to my little one, I got the fetal doppler, some gel, a towel, and went into a room. I sat in the chair, and was hoping the heartbeat would be easy to find, sometimes early on sitting up isn't the best position, and you need to lay down. However I picked it up right away, and it was really loud. I sat by myself in the room and listened to my little ones beating heart for like 2 minutes. Steady, strong, heartbeat at 156bpm. It was such a neat little blessing. I did the same thing with Hannah and Caleb when I worked in Waco, I'd hide out in the bathroom just to listen.
It made this all seem so real. I mean, I've known I have been pregnant for 2mos now, but still, this baby inside is growing and has a heart fully formed, just has to get bigger. Sounds like a human heart just faster....amazing to me. I'm so thankful for the blessings I have.
On another note, maybe yall have some wisdom. For the past 3 days I've had a headache. Not terrible, but kinda constant when I'm awake. I took 1 extra strength tylenol once, because my doc is pretty serious about what you can and can't take. And they really want you to wait until 12weeks to take stuff. So I'm in my 12th week, so I'm just trying to deal with it. I eat, I rest, and it's just still kinda there. My BP is great, I've never had migranes before, don't think this is one, just wondering what the deal is. Does being pregnant cause you to have headaches more often? I think I read that somewhere? Anyway, just throwing this thought out there.
Ok, time to eat and go to bed. Praise God for the blessings in your life!

OHHHHH how fun to hear that little heartbeat!. I remember you and Jenny "hiding" in the ICU bathroom w/ a doppler and listening to Caleb and Katie Mae. :)
Hope the headaches get better soon.Does Tylenol help when you take it?
Love, Mom
Yes, sometimes you can get more headaches when you are pregnant. I don't know what else you can take. If it doesn't go away soon, call your doctor. I think they can give you Tylenol with Codeine. Hope you feel better soon.

Hey Kelly! that's awesome about listening to the heartbeat...I want to be a nurse : ) well, as for the headaches...can't say I've been pregnant : ), but I can say that when I have headaches it usually means I need to drink more water and if they continue it means it is time to change my contacts (but I guess that doesn't apply to you). Anyways, those are my thoughts : ) Tell your family hello!
love you!

kelly--i have been getting headaches too!! no fun!! a few things--
1) i have a friend who gets bad migraines and her dr. said to drink some gatorade when she gets one. he said the sodium+sugar kind of does like a "control-alt-delete" on your system and it will frequently right itself. i find drinking it by itself helps some but w/ tylenol works pretty good. worth a try.
2) are you allowed any caffiene?? i am, and my dr. recommended excedrin tension headache. all it is is acetemenophin+caffiene. i am allowed up to 2 tabs a day (2 tabs= caffiene equiv. of 1 cup of coffee), but i just take 1 tab+1 tab tylenol and it works every time.
3)heat helps me SO much. i have a rice bag i put in the micro and wrap it around my neck or lay it on my forehead. i usually do this while i am waiting for my meds to kick in!!
YAY for baby heartbeat!! this is such an exciting time!!
